California Pizza Kitchen has expanded the menu at its restaurants nationwide to offer gluten-free versions of some of its most popular pies.
The four offerings are the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, Pepperoni, Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage and Margherita, as well as a gluten-free cheese pizza.
Probably even more important to those who cannot eat foods with gluten, California Pizza Kitchen is doing this in collaboration with the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG), longtime advocate for those who cannot tolerate gluten. The pizzas will be prepared using a gluten-free crust and other ingredients verified as gluten-free. The restaurant group also will follow strict preparation guidelines as designed by GIG. This is good news because as anyone with gluten intolerance can tell you, proper preparation is just as important as avoiding gluten.
