While the Musee d'Orsay in Paris undergoes a renovation, 100 of its Impressionist paintings are part of a traveling exhibit that started in Madrid, Spain, recently ended a run in San Francisco and is headed to its final stop, Nashville, Tenn., next month.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts will open "The Birth of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musee d'Orsay" Oct. 15. The show ends Jan. 23, 2011. It tells the story of Impressionism's development through works of 19th century artists living in Paris. The exhibit includes six Monet paintings.

Admission costs $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and college students, and free for anyone 18 and younger. Special hotel packages are available; fristcenter.org, (615) 244-3340.
