Explore a couple of the best national parks this summer on a guided family trip with Zephyr Adventures.

The active travel company is leading a five-night family adventure Aug. 10-14 in Yellowstone National Park and nearby Montana. It includes whitewater rafting, an evening watching pig racing in the town of Bear Creek, and a tour of Beartooth Nature Center (a home for injured animals). After a scenic shuttle ride to Yellowstone, you'll go on short hikes and visit Old Faithful. Horseback riding and a dip in a hot springs pool are also included. The trip is recommended for kids 6 to 14, although younger kids might be excluded from some activities.

Zephyr also is running a four-night vacation Aug. 3-7 in Montana's gorgeous Glacier National Park, where you can hike, canoe, kayak, fish, raft and ride a horse.

The Yellowstone trip costs $1,400 for adults; Glacier is $1,700. For both excursions, the price for kids under 18 is $1,000 if they share a room with their parents. Zephyr adventures.com or (888) 758-8687.
