Revelers hoping to ring in the new year in sexy style found their perfect party at the official Playboy-sponsored NYE Celebration, held at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan. A whopping 4,000 partygoers — most young, single and ready to mingle — packed the hotel’s ballrooms to drink, dance and maybe score a smooch at the stroke of midnight.

Most guests arrived around 10 p.m. — dressed in their most sultry duds — to enjoy entertainment from dance music diva Eva Simons (who performed her hit song “Take Over Control”), as well as sets from rappers Baby Bash and Chet Haze. Haze, an undergraduate student at Northwestern University and son of actor Tom Hanks, clearly uses his Hollywood clout with abandon, as announcers introduced him as “the son of the most famous actor in the world.”

Although Hef wasn’t in attendance, he sent a few of his Playmates to act as hostesses, and all were happy to snap photos and chat with partygoers at the holiday bash. August 2000 Playmate Summer Altice also doubled as DJ, spinning a few tunes right before midnight. Other bunnies included Heather Knox, Amanda Cerny, Ashley Mattingly, Sasha Bonilova, Jaclyn Swedberg, Amy Leigh Andrews and Alison Waite.

B96 radio personalities Stylz and Roman played emcees for the evening, leading the confetti-filled countdown at 12 a.m. Tickets to the celebration began at $165, but an upgraded Playboy VIP Lounge ticket — which included premium liquor options, a bigger buffet and more available seating — went for $225.
