Calling all animal lovers: Here's a list of upcoming events in the Chicagoland area. Many will welcome your pet as well as you.

Thursday, July 5 - Sunday, July 8
Dog Days of Summer
Location: PNC Bank Parking Lot SW Block of Church St & S. Milwaukee, Libertyville
Admission: $25 per team pre-registration; $30 per team onsite
Description: Libertyville's Dog Days of Summer will feature DockDogs-Big Air jumping Dogs; Frisbee Dogs; Lake County Sheriff K-9 demo, a 3K-K9 walk and more. Dog Days of Summer is produced by Pampered Pup'z and sponsored by MainStreet Libertyville, PNC Bank, GreenTree Animal Hospital and Petranek's Pharmacy.

Saturday, July 7
Animal Enrichment Day
Location: Brookfield Zoo, 3300 Golf Road, Brookfield
Admission: $15 Adult; $10.50, ages 65 and older; $10.50, children ages 3 to 11
Description: Hosted by the Brookfield chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK), this event will allow you to learn how and why keeper staff encourages natural behaviors among the zoo's many animals. All Zoo Chats for the day will be discussing enrichment and (during many of the chats) enrichment will be given to the animals. There will be hands-on activities throughout the zoo to help guests learn more about enrichment.

Dog Day Afternoon
Location: The Michiana Humane Society and SPCA, 722 St Hwy 212, Michigan City, Ind.
Admission: Free
Description: The annual Michiana Humane Society and SPCA's event is celebrating all things canine. All dog (and animal) lovers are invited to the shelter for a day of food and fun. Dog Day Afternoon is an opportunity for you and your favorite canine to come to the shelter and play. Canine games, music, food and artisan and vendor booths are featured, along with demonstrations by various canine organizations.

PAWS Chicago Beach Party
Location: Castaways at North Avenue Beach Boathouse 1603 N. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago
Admission: Pre-registration $150 person; $50 pet
Description: You and your pup can boogie on the beach with PAWS Chicago. The 10th Annual Beach Party fundraising event will be at Castaways and emceed by Lisa Dent from US99.5. Lounge by the beach drinking cool summer cocktails from an open bar while enjoying a beachy dinner buffet, silent and live auctions and live music by Spoken Four.

Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Windy City Pet Expo
Location: Odeum Expo Center 1033 North Villa Avenue in Villa Park
Admission: Free; pets welcome on a fixed lead with proof of vaccinations
Description: Shop, learn, play and adopt. Learn about pet care; volunteerism; grooming; pet behavior and training; traveling with your pet; how you can make a difference; various types of pets/breeds; veterinarian FAQs and fun activities for you and your pet.

Sunday, July 29 & Sunday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Joliet Bird Fair & Sale
Location: Knights of Columbus at 100 S 129th Infantry Drive, Joliet
Admission: $3 ages 9 and older
Description: More than 30 unique vendors selling a variety of Avian products including: Handcrafted quality toys, bird seed and food play stands, cages, embroidered items, as well as bird related jewelry and leather items. The show will also offer a variety of experienced Breeders including sellers of African greys, quakers, conures, finches, parakeets, canaries, eclectus, love birds, cockatiels, English budgies, bourkes, parrotlets and others.

Clinical Aromatherapy for Pets and their People

Scott Smith's All Animal Expo
Location: DuPage County Fairgrounds 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton
Admission: $5 ages 11 and older
Description: Animal educational programs, pets, pet supplies and more. Reptiles, birds, hedgehogs, ferrets, chinchillas, rabbits, tarantulas, scorpions, snakes and small livestock just to name a few.

Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
"Bark in the Park" Kane County Cougars vs. Clinton Lumberkings
Location: Kane County Cougars Baseball One Cougar Trail in Geneva
Admission: Tickets range from $8 to $12
Description: Man's best friend is our best friend on Aug. 15 when dogs receive free admission on the lawn area. Take the field before the game for a dog parade. During the game, lucky pooches will win prizes in contests. Following the game, stick around and run the bases with your four-legged friend. A doggie restroom and water stations will be available inside the ballpark throughout the game as well.

Saturday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Homewood's Dog Days of Summer
Location: Irwin Park, 18120 Highland Avenue, Homewood
Description: The event host -the Community Relations Commission - welcomes fest goers to the Village of Homewood's very own block party. Activities include carnival games, face painting, balloon twist and summer fare from Homewood restaurants.

Sunday, Aug. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Rockin' For Rescue
Location: The Silverado Grill 447 Spring Road, Elmhurst
Admission: $12 adults; $7 children. Proceeds benefit Great Lakes Lab Rescue
Description: Grab your two-legged friends and come out for a great cause. This family friendly event features live music, food, prizes and a silent auction. Admission includes a meal from a special menu. Tickets are available for advance purchase at the website. All proceeds benefit Great Lakes Lab Rescue, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned labrador retrievers.
