If you’re into sneakers, then you know the line is short for Kanye West’s Air Yeezy 2.
That’s because camping out is no longer the way to get your feet into a pair of these hotly-anticipated kicks from Nike. If you’re in Chicago and looking to buy, head to Succezz, 1329 S. Michigan Ave. in the South Loop or RSVP Gallery, 1753 N. Damen Ave., in Wicker Park. Those are the only two Chicago stores with the bragging rights to sell them tomorrow. But expect to bid fast, and bid often — the retail price may be $245, but will climb quickly into the thousands. The limited-edition shoes are expected to sell out, and only those with the highest bid go home with them.
“The auction is just the best, most fair way, for us to sell these shoes,” Deandre Duren, a Succezz staffer said.
The best bet is to arrive by 6 p.m., as the auction begins at 7 p.m. and will continue for just over an hour.
Duren doesn’t know how many pairs the store is slated to receive, but fans can bank on both colors in stock.
“I don’t want to come to work tomorrow, it’s going to be so crazy,” said Duren. “Our clients are bidding for NBA players because they can’t be here.”
