ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Only until 1 p.m. do we have the all clear. (After that avoid shopping and important decisions.) The Moon is in Cancer.

IF APRIL 7 IS YOR BIRTHDAY: Director Francis Ford Coppola (1939) shares your birthday. You are enthusiastic and committed to whatever you embrace. You have the courage and imagination to follow your dreams. In your youth, you dealt with rebellious tendencies, but this softened as you grew older. This year something you’ve been involved with for about nine years will end or diminish to make room for something different. A new world beckons!

◆ARIES (March 21-April 19): This is a day for serious reflection and sober discussions with family members, especially someone older or in a position of authority. You might discuss the past by remembering events. Or you might make practical, long-range plans.

◆TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Your powers of concentration are strong, which means this is the day to tackle routine work that requires attention to detail. Discussions with a partner or friend who is older or wiser might benefit you. You’re in a serious frame of mind and giving thought to your future.

◆GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Do be aware of the Moon Alert restrictions above because you are focused on money and cash flow. You might also contemplate spending money, which means you have to be in the loop about when it’s safe to do this and when it isn’t. Why throw your money away?

◆CANCER (June 21-July 22): Today the Moon is in your sign dancing with stern Saturn. This gives you a sober, realistic point of view of things. It also toughens you and helps you deal with adversity. It gives you patience and reserve strength. (Aw come on — what’s your kryptonite?)

◆LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You’re ready to roll up your sleeves and research something because it intrigues you to go behind the scenes and find hidden answers and clever solutions. You might also discover some secrets, especially about property or someone older.

◆VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Group discussions will benefit you, especially if you listen to someone who is wiser and more experienced. Even though you are impressed with what this person says, you might want to wait until tomorrow to take action. Just mull things over. (See Moon Alert above.)

◆LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Discussions with people in authority — parents, bosses, teachers, VIPs or the police — will be about serious, realistic issues. The catch is however, if you check with the Moon Alert, you will see that this afternoon, you should postpone important these kinds of decisions until tomorrow.

◆SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): You’ll find it easy to study. Focus on challenges related to higher education, politics, religion, publishing and the media. A wise teacher might have something important to say. You might also make travel plans. If so, do this in the morning not this afternoon.

◆SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): You can be productive if you have to clear away some red-tape details about inheritances, banking, taxes, debt, insurance matters and anything to do with shared property. You have the right head space to tackle this stuff. However, avoid important decisions this afternoon.

◆CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You feel you can stand alone and handle whatever comes your way; nevertheless, you might seek out someone older who has wisdom you respect. Thoughts of the past are strong and might come up for discussion with others, especially a guru figure.

◆AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): This is a productive day at work, at least, in the morning. The afternoon is a Moon Alert time, which means the wheels could come off of anything. However, during any Moon Alert, your creative imagination is enhanced.

◆PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): You are aware of your responsibilities, duties and obligations with creative ventures and anything to do with the hospitality industry, hotels, restaurants or the entertainment world. Likewise, you will take your responsibilities with children seriously.
