Georgia Nicols horoscopes for July 8

Updated: July 20, 2013 11:19PM

ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Caution: after 6:30 a.m., avoid shopping or making important decisions for the rest of the day. The New Moon is in Cancer.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): Today’s New Moon is the perfect time to make resolutions about how to improve your home or how to improve your family relationships. New Moons are beginnings and excellent times to set intentions. How can you introduce improvements in these areas?

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Clear communications make life easier for everyone. Because each New Moon is an opportunity to make resolutions, use today’s New Moon to think about how you can be clear in all your communications with others, especially relatives and siblings.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Today’s New Moon focuses on money, earnings, cash flow and possessions for your sign. Since each New Moon is an opportunity to make resolutions to improve your life, what can you do to handle your money better? What about taking care of your possessions?

CANCER (June 21-July 22): The only New Moon in your sign all year is taking place. That means this is one of the best days of the year for you to take a realistic look in the mirror and ask yourself how you can improve your image. What can you do to create a better impression on your world?

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Today’s New Moon wants you to focus on your spiritual path or your inner world. This is appropriate, especially because you are more attuned to your inner world than you have been for years. How can you make your journey more meaningful?

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Friendships are important. Apparently they’re so important they actually affect your health. (Imagine an angry friend who is armed.) Today’s New Moon is the perfect time to think about what you can do to improve your friendships with others.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Some people fear authority, others rebel against it, and some work well with it. (There will always be authority figures.) Today’s New Moon is your best chance all year to improve your relationship with authority figures: bosses, parents, teachers and VIPs.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Plato said, “Knowledge is a function of being.” (Of course, the person who knows everything has the most to learn.) Today’s New Moon urges you to think about what further training or education you can get to improve your job or enrich your life.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Use the energy of today’s New Moon to sort out loose ends with taxes, debt, insurance matters and inheritances. Don’t let this drag out and especially, don’t let them weigh upon your mind. Lighten your burden and free yourself of this red-tape angst. Be gone!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): For a relationship to be successful, you must be as good for your partner as he or she is for you. Today’s New Moon is the perfect time (the best day all year) to think how you can improve your closest relationships. (Yes, you.)

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): What can you do to improve your job, or get a better job, or improve your attitude to your job, or the appearance of your workplace? That’s what today is all about. It’s full of New Moon energy, which, despite Mercury retrograde, is a time of fresh beginnings.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): This might be one of the best days of the year for parents to think about how they can improve their relationships with their kids. And also for romantic lovers to ponder how they can enrich their romance with their main squeeze. Think of just one thing.

If July 8 is Your Birthday: Actress Kathleen Robertson (1973) shares your birthday. You are earthy, pragmatic and practical. How you get somewhere matters more to you than the destination. (It’s all about process.) You’re a hard worker to the point that others find you indispensable. You are also philosophical. You are definitely protective about your loved ones. In the year ahead, a major decision will arise. Choose wisely.
