Georgia Nicols horoscopes for May 19

Updated: June 10, 2013 7:08PM

ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: We have the all clear today to do business and make important decisions. The Moon is in Virgo.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): People are inclined to overdo things today so you might overeat sweets. Seconds on desserts and all that. Well, scrumptious goodies are hard to resist, aren’t they? But just remember: A minute on the lips is a lifetime on the hips.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Financial speculation and money deals will appeal today. But mostly, what will really appeal is just having fun! Accept all invitations to party. Enjoy sports events, luncheons, movies, picnics, social escapades and flirtations with others.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): This is a lovely day to enjoy time with family and entertaining at home because you feel generous and benevolent to everyone. Spiritual matters will intrigue you and in particular, you will love learning profound new truths related to politics, philosophy and religion.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): This is a feel-good day because you feel good — it’s just that simple. You have a positive frame of mind and you’re willing to give others the benefit of the doubt. It’s easy to ignore the pettiness of others if you encounter it because you are going to take the high road.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): If you’re shopping today, you might be tempted to spend big. (“But look at all these beautiful things!”) Whatever the case, you will enjoy luxury and comfort today because life feels a bit over the top. However, money-making ideas will be worth serious consideration.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You feel positive, warm and friendly to everyone today. This is why others are attracted to you. The Moon is in your sign dancing with lucky Jupiter and fair Venus, which makes you feel generous, charming and benevolent to everyone. (“Is everybody happy?”)

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Travel plans are exciting today. There is so much going on and you want to do it all! This is also a wonderful day for study and learning something new, especially something that broadens your experience of life and deepens your convictions about how life works. You’ll be inspired by what you learn.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): The wealth and resources of others can benefit you. Be receptive if others want to give things to you or do you a favor. However, if you are in charge of dividing something or making a decision about how to share something, be careful you don’t go overboard. Defend your own best interests.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Enjoy schmoozing with others today, especially partners and close friends. You feel in a friendly mood and you want to share your good vibes with others. Travel and profound discussions about deep subjects will intrigue you.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Everything at work will go smoothly today because people are cooperative and friendly. Be careful about promising more than you could deliver because you might be tempted to do this. A work-related romance might begin to simmer.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Romance, love affairs, parties, the theater, vacations, sports events, playful times with children and all kinds of fun-filled diversions are on the menu for you today. Very likely, you will learn something new from someone from another culture.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): All kinds of real-estate transactions are favored today. You might enjoy buying something beautiful for home or a family member. This is an excellent day to have a meeting at your home to promote further learning or endorse a worthy cause. The more the merrier!

If MAY 19 is Your Birthday: Singer/actress Grace Jones (1948) shares your birthday today. You have lots of energy but the trick is learning how to use it. Many of you are self-taught and seek out or have the benefit of a mentor. (Often of the same sex.) Because you’re an excellent communicator and very charismatic, you are generally successful in life. In the year ahead, an important choice will arise — choose wisely.
