Georgia Nicols horoscopes for May 13

Updated: May 19, 2013 9:33PM

ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: We have the all clear today to do business and make important decisions. The Moon is in Cancer.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): You will likely spend time daydreaming today — so what. No biggie. But do be aware that your intellectual perspective is not grounded. Your romantic idealism might expect too much of others. You might also be inclined to see what you want to see.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Be careful with financial deals, cash flow and major purchases today because you are less inclined to deal with reality and more inclined to deal with what you just want or hope to find. This means you could buy something extravagant and regret it.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Relations with others are gentle and easygoing today. You’re not in a harsh or judgmental frame of mind. However, your expectations might not be realistic. In other words, mere mortals might disappoint. (Happens every time.) Keep this in mind if you feel disappointed.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): You feel inspired by feelings of idealism, and because of this you might be inclined to put the wants and needs of others before your own. You’re not being a martyr, you’re just trying to be helpful in a rather noble way. Being helpful is good.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You might feel disappointed with a group if they don’t live up to your expectations today. However, more likely, you will enjoy schmoozing with others in a gentle, easygoing way. This is a good day to exchange information about dreams and ideals.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): A boss or someone in a position of authority might seduce you today. To be more specific, it’s your own mind projection that is seducing you because you are seeing what you want to see. Meanwhile, others might ask you for your creative input on something.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Because your appreciation of beauty is heightened today, give yourself a chance to enjoy beautiful places or see the arts and crafts created by other people, especially other cultures. Visit museums, galleries, parks and gorgeous buildings.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Double-check your plans regarding inheritances, taxes, debt and shared property. Be sure you know what you’re doing if you’re giving money away or deciding how something is shared. Today you might cheat yourself by being too humble and generous. (“I am nothing.”)

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Be careful in relationships in case you’re expecting too much from someone. You might be hoping that if someone cares enough for you they will live up to some impossible standard you have in your mind. But this is hardly realistic, is it?

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Cooperation among coworkers will flow smoothly today because people feel pretty happy with each other. A minor downside is that communications might be confused because of a lack of clarity. But on the whole, there’s lots of pixie dust in the air.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): This is a wonderful, romantic day — the stuff of movies. Candlelit dinners, romantic dates, poetry, shared laughter as well as fun times with children will make this a special day for you. Just remember that your lover is human, a frail mortal like yourself.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): You feel sympathetic to family members today, which is why you will want to help someone or comfort them. This is a lovely day to entertain at home, especially in a luxurious way. Do something special so that people feel they are royally treated by you.

If MAY 13 is Your Birthday: TV host/political satirist Stephen Colbert (1964) shares your birthday today. You are well-spoken and skilled with words, and you know how to use humor and satire to make your point. Many of you are entertainers and writers. You value family and you appreciate a beautiful home (ideally mortgage free). In the year ahead, you will have lots of social opportunities to enjoy yourself, and your relationship with others will definitely improve.
