Georgia Nicols horoscopes for May 12

Updated: May 19, 2013 9:32PM

ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Caution: Avoid shopping or making important decisions after 8:15 a.m. for the rest of the day. The Moon is in Gemini.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): This is a feel-good day with lots of energy floating around. Enjoy short trips and enthusiastic conversations with others. Spend time with siblings, neighbors and relatives. However, be aware that there is a Moon Alert for most of the day. (Yikes.) This means you have to postpone major purchases until tomorrow. No biggie.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): You’re full of energy with the Sun, Mercury and Mars in your sign. However, today is Moon Alert day and you are also thinking about money matters, cash flow and purchases. Don’t buy anything today. Just check it out and make your purchase tomorrow.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): The Moon is in your sign today lined up with Jupiter, which makes you feel pretty happy. Jupiter always makes us feel expansive and optimistic. “But Alice, this is the biggest thing I’ve ever got into!” “Ralph, the biggest thing you ever got into was your pants.”

CANCER (June 21-July 22): It’s easy to have a warm feeling in your tummy today because you feel quite content with yourself and your world. That’s how it should be. Regrettably, contentment is too often a fleeting virtue.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): This is a wonderful day to schmooze with others, especially female friends. In particular, you’ll enjoy group activities. Remember to keep things lighthearted. Don’t agree to anything important and especially don’t volunteer for anything.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You will likely be chatting to authority figures today — parents, bosses, teachers or the police. Although these conversations might be pleasant, don’t volunteer for anything and don’t agree to anything important because a Moon Alert is in effect.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): This is a wonderful, creative and imaginative day. Explore ideas, learn something new, talk to people from other backgrounds and different countries. Travel if you can. Do something to push the boundaries of your experience. Try something different.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Be careful today because your focus is on shared property, taxes, debt and anything you own jointly with others. This also includes inheritances. Meanwhile, you feel very generous and perhaps even casual about things.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Be tolerant and easygoing today. Cut others some slack. Actually, you have to do this because the Moon is opposite your sign, and when this happens you have to go more than halfway to meet others. Nevertheless, don’t agree to anything important.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You’ll enjoy being productive although you might not get too much done because you’ll be distracted and you’re also in a goofy mood. Just putter along and do what you can. Don’t spend money on anything other than food.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): You can come up with amazing creative ideas today. This is a wonderful day for artistic endeavors, sports events, musical performances, the arts, movies, the theater, playful times with children and social occasions with romantic lovers. It’s a play day!

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): It will please you to cocoon at home today and just hang out, relaxing, contemplating your navel. However, you might also enjoy entertaining at home because casual conversations will please you. Do not make important decisions with parents and female relatives.

If MAY 12 is Your Birthday: Actor/director Emilio Estevez (1962) shares your birthday today. You’re direct and honest and you never hesitate to speak your mind. Others like to be with you because they know they can trust you. (Plus you have a wonderful, dry sense of humor.) You’re a take-charge, straight shooter who exudes confidence. In the year ahead, a major change might take place, perhaps as significant as something that occurred around 2004. Stay flexible.
