Updated: May 19, 2013 9:31PM

ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Caution: After 7:30 a.m., avoid shopping or making important decisions for the rest of the day. The Moon is in Aries.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): This is a tricky day because you have strong opinions about financial matters and making purchases. However, this is a Moon Alert day so you should avoid these even though you’re keen about something. A slippery slope indeed.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): You’re full of mental energy today and eager to talk to others. You’re also full of wonderful, creative ideas. In this respect, this is a productive day. However, it’s also loosey-goosey (because of the Moon Alert) so just kick ideas around and schmooze .

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): This is a good day to do research. Your mind is free-floating and making connections through free association plus you’re interested in anything secretive, hidden or behind the scenes. Today your concentration might be a bit flighty.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): You will be a dynamo dealing with groups today. People will listen to you, in part because you’re bossy but also because you seem to know what you’re talking about. Nevertheless, this is a Moon Alert day, so whatever you initiate might never happen.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Someone in a position of authority might be bossy today or, vice versa, you might be assertive with others, especially parents, bosses, teachers and VIPs. That’s because you’re putting a lot of who you are into what you have to say.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You have great energy to study and research anything today. You’re excited to learn new things plus you have a lot of curiosity and drive. Also, you enjoy travel, seeing new places and meeting new faces. Broaden your experience of the world today.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): You have strong opinions about how shared property, taxes, debt or anything you own jointly with others should be handled today. No doubt you will speak up. Nevertheless, this is a poor day for agreements and important decisions. Wait until tomorrow.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Conversations with partners and close friends will be lively today because both you and others are intellectually energetic and a bit pushy. Each person wants their own way. Avoid arguments but explore ideas.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): You’re so eager to get things done at work today you might be giving orders to others and delegating. Perhaps you will encounter someone who does this to you. People are opinionated and full of mental energy today.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): This is a very creative day for you. It’s easy for you to think out-of-the-box and make connections you might normally miss. Conversations with romantic partners, sports colleagues and children will be enthusiastic and possibly even heated.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Family gatherings will be a gabfest today because people’s minds are energized. That’s why family members will be bossy, especially when it comes to making house repairs. Enjoy these discussions but postpone important decisions until tomorrow.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): You’re expressive today! Whatever you say, you throw yourself 100 percent into it because you identify with your ideas today. Naturally, this makes you convincing. However, be warned that today is a poor day to take a stand on something.

If MAY 7 is Your Birthday: Poet, Nobel laureate Randindranath Tagore (1861-1941) shares your birthday today. You inspire others with your lifestyle choices and because you embrace whatever interests you with zeal and devotion, even to the point of making sacrifices. You are not a quitter. Because you appear confident, self-assured and knowledgeable, others admire you. In your year ahead, something you’ve been involved with for about nine years will end or diminish to create room for something new to grow in your world.
