Updated: May 19, 2013 9:30PM

ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: We have the all clear today to do business and make important decisions. After 9:20 a.m., the Moon moves from Capricorn into Aquarius.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): You’re resourceful today. You see new uses or applications for things you own. You might also see new ways of earning money or how to find a job that is better for you. Basically, you want to establish more control in your life through what you own.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Take a realistic look in the mirror today and ask yourself what you can do to improve the impression you create on your world. You feel powerful and you want to turn over a new leaf. Ask yourself how you can improve your closest relationships as well.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): This is a wonderful day for investigations or research because your ability to discover secrets and hidden truths is amazing. You’ll be relentless going after the answers you seek. You might also discover a hidden enemy or someone who is working against you.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): Your relations with others, especially in groups, will be powerful today. People will sit up and take notice. Possibly you will encounter someone who is powerful and can influence you. In fact, these interactions might influence you to modify your goals.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You make a strong impression on authority figures today. And, of course, the flip side will occur. You might encounter a strong authority figure. Your aim now is to transform things for the better. You want to feel inspired about the direction your life is taking.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): What a wonderful day to explore new ideas, especially profound subjects like politics, religion and philosophy. You might shift your belief system or meet someone who provokes this. (“Master!”) Any kind of study will intrigue you today.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Sexual passion will be strong today. But in addition, you might feel equally as strong about inheritances, shared property, taxes, debt and anything you own jointly with others. Do not work for yourself alone.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): You have wonderful opportunities today to transform for the better all your closest relationships. Think about how you can do this. Basically, for a relationship to be successful, you must be as good for your partner as he or she is for you.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): This is a perfect day to introduce reforms at work. If you think you can see ways to cut costs or do things better, speak up. This is also the perfect day to think about how you can improve your health through diet, hygiene and exercise.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Romantic relationships will be particularly passionate today. This passion could be expressed intimately or just vehemently about practically any subject. You will carry the same passion into sports and opportunities to party or enjoy playful activities with children.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Look around you and make improvements where you live. Today’s energy will help you do this. In the same way, you can also think about how you can improve your family relationships, especially with authority figures. Make sure that what you do benefits everyone.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Communications with others will be powerful today because you will be speaking forcefully. Make sure whatever you propose is something that benefits others as well as yourself. Use your power for the highest good. (This isn’t corny, it’s a fact.)

If may 1 is Your Birthday: Actress Joanna Lumley (1946) shares your birthday today. You’re observant. In your communications you are direct and prepared to take a stand on your beliefs. People respect you for your honesty and realistic point of view. You have a cutting sense of humor and are a fun-loving dinner companion or lover. In your year ahead, major changes will take place, perhaps as significant as what occurred around 2004.
