ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 5:15 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. today. After that the Moon moves from Aries into Taurus.

◆ARIES (March 21-April 19): This is a pretty good day for you to start your week because the Moon is in your sign for most of the day and this makes you unusually creative, friendly and gracious with everyone. Later in the day, some mild angst about money or possessions might occur.

◆TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Late in the day, the Moon changes from Aries to Taurus so you might enjoy increased attention with partners and close friends. You might feel discouraged (especially talking to someone older) who is critical. However, most of the day is quite pleasant.

◆GEMINI (May 21-June 20): This is an excellent day to deal with others or invite people to your home. Family discussions or real-estate deals look promising. Late in the day, someone older might rain on your parade. (Bummer.) Don’t worry about this.

◆CANCER (June 21-July 22): This is a good day to schmooze with others, especially in group situations. In particular, you’ll enjoy hanging out with artistic types. Be careful about bosses or authority figures who could squelch your mood late in the day. Don’t take them seriously.

◆LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You are rather high viz. today, and no doubt details about your personal life will be public. Fortunately, this all looks quite pleasant and harmless. You might develop a crush on someone older. Do be careful because later in the day, this could backfire.

◆VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Travel for pleasure will please you today. Try to do something different to shake up your routine. Disappointing news about your fair share of something or perhaps the shared cost of something might dampen your spirits late in the day. (No biggie.)

◆LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Discussions with partners and close friends are warm and friendly today. Try to keep things light. Later this day, discussions about shared property or how much you owe someone could be discouraging. (Especially if you find out the posse is after you.)

◆SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): It will please you to do something to get better organized today. Similarly, you’ll feel good about yourself if you do something to improve your health and your general well-being. Don’t let someone discourage you later in the day. Keep to your ideals!

◆SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Vacations, parties, fun invitations, flirtations, sports events and playful times with children are tops on your agenda today. Later in the day, you might feel weighed down with responsibilities regarding these events. Oh well, it was ever thus.

◆CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Family interactions and anything to do with home or real estate will be quite pleasant today. You might want to redecorate or buy something beautiful for where you live. Later in the day, you might have second thoughts about something.

◆AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): This is a positive day for writers, salespeople, teachers, actors and anyone who communicates for a living. You’ll find it easy to be charming and smooth! Money worries might cloud your mind at the end of the day.

◆PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): This is an excellent day for business, commerce and all communications in general. You might want to shop for something beautiful for yourself or loved ones. (Check the Moon Alert above.) Late in the day, someone older might dish your ideas. (Does anal-retentive have a hyphen?)

IF OCTOBER 1 IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: Actor Rupert Friend (1981) shares your birthday today. You have a dignity that others respect. You are also talented and have exceptional abilities. You’re a perfectionist who needs a helpful partner on your journey. You often have a style of relating to others that sets you apart from people. In the year ahead, something you’ve been involved with for nine years will diminish or end to make room for something new.
