ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 4:45 p.m. until 10 p.m. today. After that the Moon moves from Cancer into Leo.

◆ARIES (March 21-April 19): Continue to work at getting better organized at home and in your job. However, check with the Moon Alert above regarding important decisions or making commitments. Relationships with authority figures might bum you out in the late afternoon.

◆TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Your playful attitude continues! You want to have fun, you want to flirt, and you want to enjoy the good life. And you can definitely do so, especially if you guard against negative thinking and criticisms in the late afternoon because they will arise.

◆GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Your focus on home, family and domestic activities continues, perhaps because you’re involved in home repairs and family discussions. Late this afternoon, issues about money, earnings and finances could be briefly discouraging.

◆CANCER (June 21-July 22): You need to keep your balance today, mentally speaking. You have the edge in all your communicating skills right now. However, this afternoon you could fall prey to self-doubt. Don’t let this happen.

◆LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): This is good week for Leos to buy wardrobe items. (However, if you’re shopping today, first check with the Moon Alert above.) A parent or someone older might rain on your parade today. Just walk on by. It’s just a brief dark cloud on your horizon. “You rang?”

◆VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You are empowered because both the Sun and Mercury are in your sign, energizing you and making you verbally articulate. Don’t let an older female, especially in a group situation, put you down. Nobody can take your power away from you unless you let them.

◆LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Continue to work behind the scenes because you’re very productive now. However, later this afternoon, an authority figure, especially a female (Mom? Teacher? Boss? Lady cop?) might criticize you or try to block you in some way. (You hate this.) Be cool.

◆SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): This afternoon you might be discouraged about travel plans or something related to higher education, publishing, the media, medicine and the law. Perhaps an authority figure in these areas puts a damper on something.

◆SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Because you have such great lighting now don’t be discouraged if someone (likely a female) is on your case about your responsibilities or paying bills or taking care of other people’s possessions. It’s small potatoes.

◆CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): With the Moon directly opposite your sign, you have to go more than halfway when dealing with others today, which is not a big deal. But a friend or partner could try to block your plans later this afternoon. Just play dead; you don’t have to roll over.

◆AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Continue to focus on cleaning up loose ends with shared property, debt, taxes, insurance matters and inheritances. Don’t be influenced by criticisms from others later in the afternoon. Instead of listening to why things can’t be done, focus on why they can be done! (Hello?)

◆PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Partners and close friends continue to be a strong focus right now. Don’t get hung up on negative problems related to kids, sports or especially, romance. You could be discouraged this afternoon but hey, it’s brief. Just keep doing that voodoo that you do so well.

IF SEPTEMBER 11 IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: Actor Tyler Hoechlin (1987) shares your birthday today. You live by your own rules. You’re opinionated but you want to be free. You often make big decisions that change your life. You are fond of children because you are a nurturer. You can also be highly dramatic! In the year ahead, you will make a conscious choice to learn or study something important. (Your rewards will soon follow.)
