ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Caution: Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 5:45 a.m. until 7:45 p.m. today. After that the Moon moves from Gemini into Cancer.

◆ARIES (March 21-April 19): This can be a productive Monday because you begin this week in a serious frame of mind. You’re thinking about long-term objectives and practical results. But as the day wears on, dark chocolate appeals and escapist tendencies grow.

◆TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Today you’re thinking about business, commerce, earnings and your cash flow. You start this week with a determination to be fiscally prudent. You’ll toy with ideas about budgets and cost cutting but by evening, you’ll spend too much on wine.

◆GEMINI (May 21-June 20): The Moon is in your sign for much of today and its relationship to Saturn starts your week off with thoughts about being more sensible and doing what you can to pull your act together. But this doesn’t last all day.

◆CANCER (June 21-July 22): You start this week with a desire to hide. You’re not really ready for the noise of the busy world. This is why making plans and concentrating on detailed work will appeal to you. By evening, these plans mushroom into fantasies.

◆LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Discussions with a female, especially an older female (“Hello, Mom?”) might start this week off with a serious tone. You might make plans about everyday events. But as the day wears on, you yearn for something different, perhaps a candlelit, romantic evening.

◆VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Something might occur this morning that calls attention to your private life. No doubt others will be aware of the self-discipline and hard work you have embraced lately. (Impressive!) This might be why relationships are so cozy this evening.

◆LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): This is a good day to make long-range travel plans or discuss exploring avenues in publishing, the media, higher education, medicine and the law. By this evening, these ideas take on a much more glamorous appeal.

◆SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): There’s something about Monday that makes you want to turn over a new leaf. You want to cut costs, pay bills and be closer to perfection. Don’t worry. You’re not doomed to a life of sensible shoes.

◆SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Discussions with someone older or more experienced might benefit you today. (Hey, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.) In fact, these sensible discussions help you rethink some goals.

◆CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You start this week off ready to work. Discussions with someone older and more experienced might benefit you at work or even benefit your health. You’re in a practical frame of mind and ready to tackle routine, detailed work because your concentration is excellent.

◆AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): This is a sensible day to make practical plans concerning children, the arts, sports, vacations and anything to do with the entertainment world or the hospitality industry. Today you have the practical insight as well as the necessary intuition to nicely do this.

◆PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): You might be thinking a lot about your To Do list concerning home and family. This no doubt includes how to cut costs as well as a list of what you want to get done. You’re very serious in your approach — initially. By this evening, you’re ready to splurge on romance.

IF JULY 16 IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: Actress AnnaLynne McCord (1987) shares your birthday today. You’re passionate about whatever you do. (You’re not a quitter!) You’re also a romantic who is very impulsive. (This is why your life is full of adventure and excitement.) Whenever you discover something wonderful, you want to share it with the world. Fantasy and escape are often a big theme in your life. Your year ahead is the beginning of a fresh, new cycle. Open any door!
