ALL SIGNS MOON ALERT: Briefly avoid shopping or making important decisions from 10 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. today. The new moon occurs in Gemini at 10:02 a.m. At 12:34 a.m. , the moon moves from Gemini into Cancer.

◆ARIES (March 21-April 19): Today’s new moon is one of the best days of the year to consider how well you communicate. Do you listen when others speak? Do others understand what you mean? According to research, only about half of our intended meaning is actually getting back and forth. (Please read this again.)

◆TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Every new moon is an opportunity to make resolutions. The new moon this month is your chance to focus on earnings, possessions and your assets in general. What does your picture look like? What would you like it to look like? What can you do?

◆GEMINI (May 21-June 20): The only new moon all year in your sign is taking place today, which makes it the perfect time to take a serious look in the mirror. Are you dated in your appearance? Do you look interesting and inviting? Think about your image.

◆CANCER (June 21-July 22): Your year ahead is going to be more spiritual, which is why it’s interesting that today’s new moon urges you to speculate on your spiritual values. For starters, what are they? Do you feel this way inclined?

◆LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Friendship is important to health, enjoyment of life and happiness. Today’s new moon urges you to give thought to your future dreams and how they can become a reality. It also urges you to consider the role friendship plays in your life.

◆VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): The new moon this month is at the top of your chart prompting you to consider life direction. For starters, are you going in the direction you want? Is it the direction you chose or someone else? Don’t drift along willy-nilly, think about where you are headed!

◆LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): What further education or training could you get to improve your job skills and enrich your life in general? To broaden your horizons, which would you prefer — signing up for a course or traveling somewhere? After all, you want to live every day you have left to you.

◆SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): “I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go.” Once a year the new moon urges you to give serious thought to debt; that day has arrived. Figure out exactly how much you owe and how much you own. (Information is power.) What can you do to reduce this debt?

◆SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Today the new moon is opposite your sign, which means this is your chance (the only one all year) to think about how you can improve partnerships and your closest friendships. What are three things you might do?

◆CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Each new moon is a chance to make a resolution and this month’s new moon is the only new moon all year that focuses on your relationships and your health. What can you do to improve either area? Or both?

◆AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Today’s new moon is your best chance all year to think about how you balance play and work in your life. Do you enjoy flirtations? Do you enjoy hobbies or social get-togethers? Do you enjoy sports and playful times with children? Do you play?

◆PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Use the energy of today’s new moon to think how you can improve your home and your relationships with family members. Every new moon is the perfect time to begin new activities or initiate a new outlook.

IF JUNE 19 IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: Actor/comedian Jean Dujardin (1972) shares your birthday today. You are persuasive and always very involved with others. (You don’t take a backseat to anything.) You have a talent for motivating others and you can use this to bring about change. You are hard-working, but must guard against burnout. You are capable of enormous dedication and perseverance. In the year ahead, an important decision will rise — choose wisely.
