Susanna Homan biography

Susanna Homan gives readers a glimpse behind the velvet ropes in her weekly column, Susanna's Night Out, every Thursday in the Chicago Sun-Times. A pioneer of "reality" journalism, Homan has covered everything from the Grammy Awards to the Gay Pride Parade.

She recently joined the staff of 105.9 WCKG as a weekend talk show host on Saturday afternoons. She also makes regular appearances on Fox Morning News as a party, fashion and trend expert.

Homan has emceed local fund-raisers for the Hearts Foundation, Meals on Wheels, Arlington International Racecourse, Today's Chicago Woman Foundation and the Chicago Sun-Times Charity Trust.

She co-chaired the Green Tie Ball in 2003 and 2004, and helped set fund-raising and attendance records; the 2004 event themed "Emerald City" attracted 3,600 guests and raised nearly $375,000 for the beautification of Chicago. She is co-chairing the Green Tie Ball again in 2006.

Homan is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
