When most of us hear the word chia, we think Chia Pet.
If you’re tuned into the wellness world, you probably know chia seeds are jam-packed with nutrients.
With that in mind, here comes the Chia Pod. Each container teams chia seeds, coconut milk and fruit creating a pudding-like consistency. (The four different flavors are banana, mango, blueberry and vanilla bean cinnamon.) It’s vegan with no added sugar.
The calorie counts vary depending on the fruit, but range from 130 to 165 calories per 6-ounce serving. Each pod provides 100 percent of your recommended daily Omega 3 intake.
The little bowl, OK pod, comes with a little spoon tucked inside the lid, making it a good on-the-go snack or breakfast option.
Suggested retail price is $3.29. Find it in non-dairy yogurt section at Whole Foods or buy a 12-pack ($39.95) at www.thechiaco.com.au/products/chia-pod. —Sue Ontiveros
