RECIPE: Red Velvet Cookies

MAKES 36 Cookies

1 pouch (1 pound, 1.5
ounces) Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix

1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa

¼ cup butter or margarine, softened

¼ cup sour cream

1 tablespoon red food coloring

1 egg

FROSTING

¾ to 1 cup cream cheese frosting

¼ cup chopped nuts

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, stir cookie mix, cocoa, butter, sour cream, food coloring and egg until soft dough forms. Roll dough into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes, or until set. Cool 2 minutes; remove to wire rack and cool completely, about 15 minutes. Frost; sprinkle with nuts. Store slightly covered at room temperature.
