Career Education's culinary leader leaving

May 28, 2008

Career Education Corp.'s culinary business division head is leaving the company, effective Friday, the Hoffman Estates-based for-profit education firm said Tuesday.

Paul Ryan has resigned from his post as senior vice president of the company's culinary arts strategic business unit, responsible for about 19 percent of the company's revenue during the first quarter.

The company is looking for a new leader for the section. Brian Williams, vice president of operations for culinary arts, will head the section in the interim.

Ryan has been with the company since 2000.

The company did not say why Ryan is leaving, and Ryan was not available for comment.

Career Education Corp.'s culinary school enrollment dropped 8 percent in the first quarter.
