Those not keen on cooking the Thanksgiving meal can outsource some — or all — of it, for pickup on Thanksgiving Day.
The deluxe Sixteen in the Trump Chicago hotel, 401 N. Wabash, will cook the entire meal for six to eight people — an organic maple-roasted turkey, apricot and chestnut stuffing, Parker House rolls and more — for the equally deluxe price of $345. Nov. 20 is the last day to order; call (312) 588-8114.
For the same price, you can pick up a smoked turkey feast for 10 to 14 people at Chicago q, 1160 N. Dearborn. Order by Nov. 22; (312) 642-1160.
Another smoked option: Real Urban Barbecue, 610 Central Ave., Highland Park. Meatwise, you can get a whole smoked turkey ($49.95) as well as smoked ham, boneless turkey breast and beef brisket. The a la carte menu is vast and varied. Order by Nov. 22; (224) 770-4227.
Custom House Tavern, 500 S. Dearborn, will take care of just your side dishes. Offerings, in two sizes, include turkey confit stuffing and green bean casserole with Vidalia onion cream and crispy mushrooms. Deadline is Nov. 20; call (312) 523-0200.
Other restaurants taking to-go orders include Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie Blvd., and Prairie Fire, 215 N. Clinton; the Chicago Firehouse, 1401 S. Michigan, and Mity Nice, 835 N. Michigan.
