Chefs at Taste

Area chefs will flex their cooking muscles during the Taste of Chicago.

More than 70 chefs will appear during the 10-day food feast at Dominick's Cooking Corner. This year Plass Appliances has partnered with Electrolux Icon to introduce a new line of appliances, which Taste chefs will use to demonstrate recipes.

Festivities kick-off at 11 a.m. Friday with chef Bill Dugan of Wellfleet at the Fish Guy Market.

Other chefs appearing during the 10-day fest are: Ted Cizma; Jennifer Bucko, Robert Morris College Institute of Culinary Arts; Freddy Sanchez, Adobo Grill; Bill Kim, Le Lan; Bob Hartwig, French Pastry School; Luis Perea, Bombon Cafe; Joseph Avila of Hashbrowns, and Lisa Chen Ko, Tamarind.

July 3 is the day for local celebrities with Art Smith leading off the day's events. The Food Network's Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh, known to locals as the Hearty Boys, step up to the plate at 3 p.m.

Dave Martin from Bravo Television's "Top Chef" gives crowds a holiday treat when he takes the stage at 3 p.m. July 4.

Master sommelier Alpana Singh of WTTW-Channel 11's "Check Please!" will take the stage at 2 p.m. July 6.

Taste of Chicago runs Friday through July 8. Cooking demonstrations begin at 11 a.m. daily.
