It’s nostalgic, it’s delicious and its neon pop of color cannot help but put you in a good mood. Green River, a lemon-lime soda that is more lime than lemon, has been around since 1919 and might be the best-looking soda on the market. “Electric emerald” probably describes it best. This pre-Prohibition concoction is sweet, refreshing, delightfully fizzy and served from a fountain — the way any good old-fashioned soda should be. Try a bottomless cup of Green River ($2.50) with the fried chicken sandwich and a side of pimento mac and cheese at Honey Butter Fried Chicken, 3361 N. Elston.
