Some “old” booze is actually, well, “new.”
Get ready to sail the high seas of craft cocktails when the vintage “Remember the Maine” ($8) drink launchs Saturday at FitzGerald’s, 6615 W. Roosevelt Rd., in Berwyn. The drink has been aged over the last three months in a charred oak Templeton Rye barrel under the watch of “Classic Cocktail” bartenders Isaac Lyons and Marcus Reidy.
Other cocktails will be served, including a Templeton Rye seasonal punch, a grapefruit rosemary punch with rye garnished with seasonal fruit.
The event is part of the club’s year-old “Classic Cocktail” series. “Remember the Maine” is a companion piece to the club’s SideBar Sessions jazz series. The Peter Lerner Quartet performs at 8 p.m. (No cover, $5 suggested donation.)
