Let it pour

La Pamplemousse

There are cocktails made with wine and cocktails made with beer. La Pamplemousse has Stiegl Grapefruit Radler (beer with grapefruit soda) and Cocchi Americano Rosa (an Italian aperitif wine) since both were new to Chicago when Thomas Mooneyham of The Gage created the drink. It offers berry freshness, that all-important summer fizz, an Aylesbury Duck Vodka kick and a little lemon juice and honey syrup to round everything out. La Pamplemousse, $12, is on the seasonal libations menu at The Gage, 24 S. Michigan. —Michael Austin
