As we head into the most summery part of summer, no style of wine is more appropriate than a bright pink, delightfully fruity — yet dry — rose. Hold your horses! If the mere mention of rose makes you squint with skepticism, you probably have been drinking some lame rose: sugary, whimpy, or just generally terrible. We have all been there. But drinking a glass of M. Chapoutier’s Belleruche Rose is a risk-free proposition. The Cotes du Rhone blend of mostly Grenache will offer you lush strawberry and refreshing raspberry, and it will finish dry so you can enjoy it even when temperatures sizzle. Plus, it just plain looks like summer. It is a steal at $12 a glass or $48 a bottle (through July) at The J. Parker on the rooftop of Hotel Lincoln, 1816 N. Clark, 13th floor, (312) 254-4747; or for $10/$39 at Chicago q, 1160 N. Dearborn, (312) 642-1160. —Michael Austin
