CAFE W PEPPERONI PIZZA SNACK ROLLS

3 stars

Suggested retail: $2.99 for 40-count bag

Per 6 rolls: 230 calories, 11g fat, 460 mg sodium, 24 g carbohydrates

In a tight economy, you don't have to sacrifice taste for price, not when it comes to products like Walgreens private label Cafe W frozen appetizers and snacks.

I stumbled upon these products while scanning the store circular during a quick run to Walgreens.

I picked out the Pepperoni Pizza Snack Rolls, thinking that my son might like them.

My instincts were right. I was barely in the door and putting groceries away before he reached for the bag.

The mini pizza pillows are stuffed with cheese, meat and a tangy pizza sauce, which was good enough to rival the better known brands.

My son opted to deep-fry the rolls, which came out golden brown and delicious. The pizza rolls can be microwaved or cooked in a conventional oven as well.

Whether or not you're watching your pennies, this product is worth a try.

Look for Cafe W products in the refrigerated sections at select Walgreens stores.
