The search is on for sweet and savory original recipes using olive oil.
If you’ve got one everyone raves over, the owners of Oh, Olive! stores want to hear from you. If you win their contest, which begins Saturday and continues through Nov. 20, your recipe could be in the stores’ next cookbook, could be served at a well-known Chicago restaurant and you could take home a basket with $150 in Oh, Olive! products.
Just entering the contest brings participants some bounty: each registrant will receive a 60 ml bottle of olive oil (a $5.95 value).
There is an impressive lineup of judges who will determine the winner and runner-up. They include OON Chicag’s Matt Eversman, Province’s Randy Zweiban, cookbook author Tom Mueller and former Sun-Times Food editor Janet Fuller.
Each entry must use olive oil and two products from the participating Oh, Olive! stores. To enter, email recipes to sandy@ootogo.com. Or, pick up entry cards at the participating Oh, Olive! stores: 1971 Tower Road, Glenview; 606 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, and 904 W. Armitage.
