A battle will be brewing around three secret ingredients on June 14.
That’s the date of the eighth annual Metal Chef Culinary Competition, which will be hosted by the Metropolitan Club in support of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Three chefs from private clubs will face off and create original dishes including the trio that will be revealed that day.
The three executive chefs are the Metropolitan’s Greg Carso, Michael Pivoney, Mid American Club in the AON Center, and Matthew Castro, Foundation Room at House of Blues.
Who’s judging? While there is one celebrity chef judge, the rest of the panel will be plucked from the event’s attendees. That could be you!
The fun is from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at the Metropolitan, 233 S. Wacker Dr., 67th Floor, Chicago. It’s open to the public and the cost is $30, which includes complimentary beer, wine, hors d’oeuvres and chef samplings. Bring non-perishable food donation and receive a raffle ticket for each item donated.
