America loves BBQ pork riblets

October 1, 2008
Suggested retail: $7.99 for a 2-pound bag

Per 1 rib with sauce: 140 calories, 10 g fat, 440 mg sodium, 20 g carbohydrates

Summer weather may be on its way out, but the desire for barbecue ribs is a year-round yearning.

Brownie points for those brave enough to fire up the grill in the face of a Chicago winter. For the rest of us, there's pre-packaged products such as America Loves BBQ's riblets, pre-cooked meat dripping in sauce that takes only minutes to heat.

The riblets are drenched in America Loves BBQ barbecue sauce, which is just the right combination of sweet and spicy, thanks to a blend of ingredients that includes molasses, pineapple juice, ground red pepper, smoke flavor, hot sauce, sugar, honey and Worcestshire sauce.

The riblets can be broiled, grilled or microwaved when heating. Cooking instructions calls for heating five minutes on both sides. However, you can prepare the riblets to your own taste depending on whether you prefer your meat crispy or soft and soaked in sauce.

The riblets may be found in Dominick's and due soon to arrive at Jewel Food stores.
