Nearly half of women say they have a hard time finding a swimsuit that fits right, a new survey finds.

About 18 percent of women don’t like how they look in a bathing suit, 36 percent are fine with how they look and 40 percent don’t have strong feelings either way, according to the survey of 1,009 women 18 and older done for ShopSmart magazine, which is put out by the publisher of Consumer Reports.

It also finds that:

†A bout half of women say it’s fine to wear a bikini at any age. The rest figure 48 years old is the age it’s time to stop wearing a bikini.

†Forty-five percent have bought a swimsuit that claims to make them look slimmer.

About a third buy a new suit every year, paying an average of $47.
