Local and national chefs got cooking in honor of healthy eating at the inaugural Magnificent Taste event. More than 200 guests stopped by Pioneer Court (401 N. Michigan) for al fresco after-work bites from Doug Psaltis of RPM Italian, Erik Freeburg of Bar Toma, Sarah Grueneberg of Spiaggia (a “Top Chef” runner-up) and more. Joining his fellow “Top Chef” competitor, winner Paul Qui made a special appearance and whipped up a broccoli, kale and onion dish. “This is a great cause and the theme for my dish, ‘eat your veggies,’ plays to that,” said Qui. All proceeds from the evening benefitted Common Threads, a locally-based organization dedicated to educating children from low-income families on the importance of nutrition. The Magnificent Taste was a part of a week-long series of events sponsored by the Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival celebration.
