You could call it a triple-crown affair — fedoras, fascinators and wide-brim hats — when the Service Club of Chicago held its Day at the Races on Sunday in the Governor’s Room of Arlington Park racetrack. The annual event attracted more than 150 attendees who popped bottles of Prosecco at their tables while making wagers in a private betting area. The event was chaired by Service Club member Diane Freeman and featured the ultimate auction prize: two tickets to the Kentucky Derby complete with hotel and airfare. Money raised at the event will fund grant programs benefitting local Chicago charities. The Sun-Times was the media sponsor of this event.
