Guests at Share our Strength Taste of the Nation ate their way around the country.
On Wednesday night, the grand ballroom at Navy Pier was a melting pot of aromas as dozens of the city’s most esteemed chefs whipped up their best dishes at Share Our Strength’s annual Taste of the Nation event. Spanning across two floors and the outdoor patio, the event offered more than 1,000 guests a chance to sample food from Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill), Bill Kim (Belly Q), Anthony Martin (Tru), Ryan Poli (Tavernita) and more. Thirty mixologists kept the night buzzing, too, including Bridget Albert from Southern Wine and Spirits and Goose Island Beer Co.’s John Hall, who each received the Sustaining Community Award for their contributions to the food and beverage world. More than $200,000 was raised, which will help fight childhood hunger in Chicago and across America.
