The Cubs ruled at Kerry Wood’s Strike Zone bowling tournament.
The Cubs swapped their classic pinstripes and cleats for red jerseys and bowling shoes at the Kerry Wood Strike Zone bowling tournament last Wednesday night. The entire team roster turned out — along with President Theo Epstein and Chairman Tom Ricketts — plus celebrity friends John Cusack, Finesse Mitchell of “Saturday Night Live” fame and John Mahoney of “Frasier.” The event, held at 10Pin Bowling Lounge, marked the retired pitching great’s seventh charitable tourney — but the first event since he and his wife, Sarah, formed the Wood Family Foundation last summer. The charity raises money to provide school supplies and other help to Chicago area children. It was a grand slam for the foundation, which nabbed $300,000 to fund its initiatives.
