CAUSE & EVENT | The Civic Federation’s civic awards
When Chicago’s top business moguls converged on the Palmer House Hilton on June 18, it wasn’t for a takeover, acquisition or merger. It was so the Civic Federation, an alliance of the city’s savviest financial leaders, could toast Allstate CEO Thomas Wilson and AT&T Illinois (accepted by President Paul La Schiazza) for their outstanding service to the community. Co-chaired by Lester Crown and Andrew McKenna, as well as Bruce Rauner and Michael Sacks (both investors in Sun-Times parent company Wrapports), the luncheon attracted more than 630 guests who raised $400,000 for the ever-watchful organization.
