It was a made-for-TV moment when the Museum of Broadcast Communications toasted its 25th anniversary by opening the doors to a sparkling new location at 360 N. State on Tuesday (the night before its official opening to the public). Legendary guests— including actors John Mahoney and Betty White and newscaster Hugh Downs — joined the museum’s founder Bruce DuMont and dozens of local broadcast bigwigs like Bill Kurtis, Larry Wert and Kathy Brock. “I feel like a kid in a candy shop,” said Mahoney, who later introduced White to a standing ovation. “I’m so thrilled I had the privilege of being early on [television],” said White, who is 90. “I mean really early on.”
