Michelin ratings aren’t just for fine dining establishments these days. There’s also a separate category called Bib Gourmand. Defined as “inspectors’ favorites for good value,” it ranks places that offer a couple of courses, wine and dessert for $40 or less.
Among this year’s honorees are several well-known establishments, including Hopleaf in Andersonville and Au Cheval in the West Loop. But there are also 21 newcomers. Among them: Autre Monde in Berwyn, Kama Indian Bistro in La Grange, Mercat a la Planxa in the South Loop, and TAC Quick Thai Kitchen in the Lakeview/Wrigleyville area.
