When vegetarians talk, people listen. Well, Seattle Sutton does.
Seattle Sutton Healthy Eating has expanded its options to include a full-week vegetarian menu.
The Illinois-based company — named after its founder, a registered nurse who wanted to help people eat more healthfully — has been offering freshly prepared weekly meal deliveries since 1985. They are calorie and portion-controlled.
After a steady number of requests for vegetarian meals, Seattle Sutton started offering half-weeks of vegetarian meals on a trial basis in March. They were a hit, and so the company launched full weeks of the meatless meals in mid-September.
With the weekly plans, 21 fresh — not shelf stable or frozen — meals are included, which translates to three a day. (They are designed to be eaten within five days.) The weekly vegetarian daily calorie count is 1,500.
There are retail spots where the meals can be picked up, or they can be delivered via UPS. For more information, visit seattlesutton.com or call (800) 442-3438. —Sue Ontiveros
