Be! Products has it in the bag.

The Chicago-based nail polish line makes a red carpet entrance Friday night as part of the swag bag for the Grammy’s pre-party philanthropic event, the annual MusiCares Person of the Year. The honor goes to Bruce Springsteen this evening, with host Jon Stewart and performances by Elton John and Kenny Chesney.

And with the advent of the red carpet “manicams,” nail lacquer has never been more in vogue.

A-list celebs like Taylor Swift, Pink, and Gloria Estefan have been spotted sporting colorful tips adorned with Be! Products polish — one-part nail polish line, one-part social business enterprise— and founder Neli Vazquez-Rowland said she hopes to gain more celeb manicures after debuting her polishes to A-listers in the gift bags.

But Be! Products isn’t just about maintaining a high-profile Hollywood status. A Chicago native, Vazquez-Rowland launched the professional nail care line of 100 pretty polish colors in 2005 as an offshoot to her charity, “A Safe Haven Foundation,” which provides addiction treatment and job training services for individuals in crisis.

Vazquez-Rowland, who grew up in the Little Village neighborhood surrounded by crime and a family broken by alcoholism, left her career in investment banking in 1994 to co-found “A Safe Haven Foundation,” along with her husband Brian.

The non-profit has served more than 32,000 clients and helps an estimated 1,200 people struggling with addiction per day.

Vazquez-Rowland tied her business endeavor together with “A Safe Haven Foundation” by setting a plan in motion to employ hundreds of Chicago-based alumni of the program who are rebuilding their lives after getting sober.

The polishes are available for purchase in Chicago at CICI Nails, the spa at the East Bank Club, and Flirty Girl Fitness, and can be found at

“I am incredibly honored that Be! Was invited to be the exclusive nail care line featured at Grammy week’s most prestigious event,” Vazquez-Rowland said.
