Metro & Tri-state Man dies after Lake Michigan rescue
A 50-year-old man rescued by divers Tuesday evening after falling into Lake Michigan near the Southeast Side has died. The man has been identified as Julius Collins, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Emergency crews responded to a report of a man in the water about 5:30 p.m. near 67th Street and Promontory Drive, Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight said.

Entertainment He did survive: Tony Clifton returns for charity gig Tony Clifton, an alter ego of the late comedian Andy Kaufman, will headline a July 31-Aug. 17 run at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division, to benefit Comic Relief’s work on behalf of artists affected by Hurricane Katrina. The lounge singer character will be backed up by burlesque dancers and a band of Gulf Coast musicians.
