Weather: LETDOWN
A Northwest Side alderman last Wednesday suggested preferential seating for Chicago residents at Millennium Park. Today, Mayor Daley defended suburbanites' right to a concert seat. (AP)
Daley defends suburbanites' right to concert seats Millennium Park would never have been built without suburban wallets, Mayor Daley said Monday, scoffing at suggestions that Chicagoans get preferred seating there. "Remember, people gave money [to build Millennium Park] who lived throughout the metropolitan area -- business leaders. And if you look at many of them, they lived in suburban areas. They should have never given," Daley said facetiously.

Ciao, Bella: 'New Moon' stars talk about breakup "I know what it's like to be broken up with in real life," Kristen Stewart says. "I don't know what it's like to be broken up by with a vampire." Ah, the perils of having a significant other who's a glowing immortal hunk ... and a protective one. In the "Twilight" sequel "New Moon," out Nov. 20, teenage Bella (Stewart) is dumped by her vampire love Edward (Robert Pattinson). You know how it goes: I love you, but I'm a vampire and it's really not safe for us to date anymore because members of my family want to eat you, so I'm going to disappear.

Terry Savage: While mortgage foreclosures continue to rise along with the growing unemployment rate, there are a few small rays of hope for homeowners in trouble -- and those looking to buy a home. Last week, Congress approved the extension of the current $8,000 First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit. Instead of expiring Nov. 30, it will be available for purchase contracts signed by April 30 (with closings by June 30).
