No more young visitors at Rush

Starting today, Rush University Medical Center is no longer letting kids younger than 16 visit hospitalized patients, in an effort to stem the spread of H1N1 swine flu. Children are among those most at risk.

Workers sent home sick with a contagious illness would be guaranteed up to five paid sick days, under legislation introduced Tuesday in Congress. Rep. George Miller (D-Calif.) says his measure would protect about 50 million workers with no paid sick leave. The legislation would cover only sick workers ordered by their bosses to go home, not workers who call in sick .
