Thanks to the late Robert Kardashian’s widow and an ex-wife, the paternity of Khloe Kardashian was a hot topic Wednesday.
According to Jan Ashley, who married Kardashian after his divorce from Kris Jenner, and Ellen Kardashian, who married the star attorney two months before his death — Khloe is not his biological daughter.
Despite the two women’s claims in the new Star — stories reportedly purchased for a hefty sum — the other, famous Kardashians are totally denying the report.
Hours after the story leaked Wednesday on RadarOnline, Kim Kardashian blasted it over lunch with a group of Hollywood pals. Khloe herself was deeply upset and immediately took to Twitter. Clearly addressing Ashley and Ellen Kardashian, she tweeted, “The audacity you have to mention my father’s name like this. Should be ashamed of urself [sic]. … I let a lot of things slide but this one is really low. YOU ARE DISGUSTING.”
It’s not yet clear whether the Kardashians will take legal action against either the magazine or Ashley and Ellen Kardashian.
† In the Star story, referring to Robert Kardashian, Ashley said, “Khloe is not his kid. … He told me that after we got married. He just kind of looked at me and said it like it was a matter of fact.”
Ellen Kardashian backed up that story to Star, claiming she believes it is time “to tell the truth” about the Kardashian family.
The story is being fueled by Jenner’s admission in her recent book, Kris Jenner … and All Things Kardashian, that she had been unfaithful to Robert Kardashian during their 12-year marriage.
BABY BEAT: Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby, Blue Ivy Carter, is making history — and she’s not even a week old.
Billboard reports that she’s the youngest person ever to appear on the magazine’s singles chart, thanks to her cries at the end of her dad’s rap tribute, “Glory.”
Jay-Z credits his daughter (as B.I.C.) on the song, an immediate viral sensation. It enters Billboard’s chart next week at No. 74.
† Less happily, the New York Health Department has opened an investigation into Lenox Hill Hospital, where Blue Ivy was born Saturday. It’s due to numerous complaints by parents complaining that they were blocked from accessing the hospital’s neonatal unit by private security guards hired by Jay-Z and Beyonce’s team.
ENGAGING IDEA: While those close to Halle Berry are congratulating the Oscar winner on her Christmastime engagement to Olivier Martinez, some are thinking, “Let’s hope third time’s the charm!”
Berry, who met the French actor while working on “Dark Tide,” went public with the relationship in fall 2010. Her marriage to baseball player David Justice ended in ’97. She divorced second husband and R&B singer Eric Benet in 2005, (and also split acrimoniously from partner Gabriel Aubry in 2010).
Martinez has been linked to numerous stars, including Angelina Jolie and Kylie Minogue.
“Olivier seems so devoted to Halle. Let’s hope he can break her curse of picking the wrong guy,” said a top Hollywood agent and good Berry buddy.
AUTHOR! AUTHOR! Congrats to former Evanstonian John Logan. The two-time Oscar nominee, whose Tony Award-winning “Red” opened Goodman’s 2011-12 season, has been tapped to pen the screenplay for the big-screen version of the hugely successful musical “Jersey Boys.”
Original Four Seasons members Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio will be executive producing the film based on the show about their lives — which already has made more than $1 billion in stage productions worldwide.
CHANGE OF PLANS: Those hoping to see Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein at Showplace Icon Thursday are out of luck. The planned special screening of Weinstein’s “The Iron Lady,” starring Meryl Streep — benefitting the CURE epilepsy group — has been canceled.
SEEN ON THE SCENE: The library bar at Ian Schrager’s Public Chicago hotel was jam-packed Tuesday night to fete famed chef (and Pump Room food guru) Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s newest cookbook, Home Cooking With Jean-Georges. Among those on hand were Victor Skrebneski, Alpana Singh, celebrity hairstylist Federic Fekkai, Jean Joho, Michael Kutza, Barbara and Roe Conn and Candace Jordan. … Rocker Billy Corgan was among the first to snap up a precious early Art Shay photograph — “Dorsal Nude, Simone de Beauvoir” — at the recent Daiter Gallery opening of the latest Shay exhibition.
