No wonder Beyonce was laughing off rumors that a party planner and music video director was trying to lure away the music superstar’s main man Jay-Z.

The superstar has bigger things on her mind: She’s pregnant!

Beyonce publicly showed off her baby bump Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

It will be the first child for the couple, confirming Beyonce’s pledge to get pregnant by the time she was 30. She will hit the big 3-O on Sunday.

† The party planner, Vashtei Kola, reportedly has had some business dealings with Jay-Z and told friends she was trying to lure away the music mogul.

Even before Beyonce’s blockbuster announcement Sunday, that was “not likely,” said a veteran Beyonce-Jay-Z source. But he notes, “Kola is relentless and very aggressive. She’s dated a bunch of music celebrities, including Pharrell, Q-Tip and [Chicago’s own] Common.

“But Jay-Z is in another league.”

Obviously. And so is Beyonce!

TELL-ALL COMING? Angelina Jolie was said to be nervous about ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton’s memoir, worried some of the couple’s wilder exploits might make it into print.

Turns out Jolie can relax. Those who have seen some of Thornton’s musings say they are very humorous and honest, but one Billy Bob buddy says, “Angie has nothing to worry about. … There’s nothing there we don’t know already.”

LOCAL LIGHT: Word has it, funnyman Larry David has started dating actress and Chicago native Amy Landecker, the daughter of veteran local broadcaster John Records Landecker. The two met when Amy guested on David’s iconic comedy “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Don’t know if Chicago could support another burger chain, but Wahlburgers — a group of fast-food eateries started by a guy named Tom Wahl in Rochester, N.Y. — has teamed up with actors Mark and Donnie Wahlberg and their brother Paul with plans to take the fast food joints national.

The Wahlberg boys discovered Wahl had already registered “Wahlburger” and was up and running when they started out to create their own Wahlburger chain.

Instead of a big legal fight, they got it all worked out, and now Rochester’s Wahl is partners with the Hollywood Wahlbergs — and looking to jointly boost their burgers everywhere.

FOND FAREWELL? I’m hearing the Muscular Dystrophy Association is trying to figure out some way to placate the Jerry Lewis fans expressing outrage at the seemingly abrupt axing of the man who hosted its annual TV fund-raiser for 45 years. Could an on-camera tribute to Jerry on next weekend’s Labor Day Telethon be in the works?

SEEN ON THE SCENE: The legend herself, Barbra Streisand — joined by hubby James Brolin — slipped into the private banquet space at Sunda on Saturday night, for a quiet dinner at the popular Asian eatery. … After working four 18-hour days in a row, “Shameless” stars Emmy Rossum, Shanola Hampton and Steve Howey were ready to PARTY Friday night — and headed to Rockit Bar & Grill to play pool, guzzle down cherry bomb shots and dance the night away! …. The “Shameless” crew dined a bit more sedately Saturday at Joe’s Stone Crab. … Also Saturday, John Cusack was seen checking out the scene at Paris Club on Hubbard, while Dwyane Wade and girlfriend Gabrielle Union were spied late-night dining down the street at Hub 51.
