Word that Kim Kardashian is seriously considering following old tradition — and taking future husband Kris Humphries’ name when the couple marries this summer — is causing concern in Kamp Kardashian.
Both Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, and key members of Ryan Seacrest’s production company (which produces the various Kardashian reality shows) are cool to that idea.
“This is all about branding,” said a Seacrest team insider, “and Kim is a very valuable brand — known worldwide as Kim Kardashian. There is no reason for her to become ‘Mrs. Kris Humphries,’ and I hope to God she doesn’t hyphenate her name and become Mrs. Kardashian-Humphries.
“If anything — Kris should change his name to Kris Kardashian,” added the source with a big guffaw.
† Meanwhile, Kardashian herself was very quick to deny an OK! Magazine cover story — with a headline screaming, “I’m Having a Baby!”
In a statement, Kardashian insisted, “This is crazy! I am NOT pregnant! Magazines can be so tricky with their wording. The inside [of the magazine] states that one day I want a baby! But I’m not pregnant.”
PHOTO FLASH: As Blake Lively continues to ramp up her fast-escalating romance with Leonardo DiCaprio, the “Gossip Girl” actress is also working hard to quash those nude photos put out on the Internet purporting to be her.
The actress hired an attorney who is threatening legal action against both the creator of the hoax and anyone who publishes the photos.
† Along similar lines, a longtime L.A. paparazzi source tells me that there could be more “celebrity” naked pictures and videos expected to come out soon, this time allegedly “starring” Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
“There are some amazing look-alikes working in L.A. today and looking to make a few extra bucks,” said my source, who added, “These will be as fake as the Blake Lively shots.”
AGENDA ACTION: Chicago’s Nikki Kaapke (“The Bachelor”) is launching her new cooking website, thedekadentdiva.com, at Market’s rooftop June 10 with former “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” competitors scheduled to attend, including Ashley Hunt, Caitlyn McCabe, Erin Harper, Suzie Williams, Jason Resmini, Brian Duke and David Vargas.
† Rock fans should check out the traveling exhibit of memorabilia on display today at Hard Rock Cafe Chicago on West Ontario — featuring such items as Jimi Hendrix’s custom Gibson Flying V guitar, Michael Jackson’s jacket from the “Beat It” video, a funny letter Bono sent to Sting, Madonna’s wedding dress worn in the “Like a Virgin” video at the first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984 and the original Eric Clapton guitar that started the Hard Rock’s collection.
† Chicagoan Dr. Ian Smith (VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club”) will lead a “Makeover Mile” one-mile walk, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday behind the UIC phys. ed. building at 901 W. Roosevelt. It’s designed to promote CVS’ “To Your Health” anti-obesity, healthy lifestyle, better health program.
MAKIN’ MUSIC: The soundtrack for the upcoming film “The Help,” starring Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer — based on Kathryn Stockett’s mega-best-selling novel — will include “The Living Proof,” a song written and recorded by Grammy winner Mary J. Blige.
RISING STARS: Yes, that romance between top “American Idol” contestant Pia Toscano and her “Dancing With the Stars” beau Mark Ballas is moving along very nicely — so much so that friends expect the duo to shortly set up joint housekeeping in L.A.
Toscano, who already has dumped her old New York boyfriend, is prepping for the upcoming “Idol” Top 10 tour this summer — plus talking to Ballas about dreaming up a joint singing and dancing show they would do together.
SEEN ON THE SCENE: Thomas Ian Nicholas (“American Pie”) was watched by family and friends as he performed at Angels & Kings Chicago’s weekly “Acoustic AK” series, where former “American Idol” contestant Aly Jados also entertained. … Country stars Rascal Flatts were spied hangin’ at the Underground, along with the Bulls’ Joakim Noah. … Carlucci in Downers Grove was the eatery of choice for the Bears’ Greg Olsen — who teamed up with reality star Bill Rancic to boost the “Chicago Walk for Autism Awareness.”
