THE BACHELOR - Brad Womack - once considered by many to be the "most hated Bachelor" in the series' history - has spent the better part of the last three years going through a radical personal transformation after the shocking finale night that changed his life forever. Now he is really ready - healthier both in body and mind - to make a genuine commitment to a relationship, as he stars in the next edition of ABC's hit romance reality series, "The Bachelor," when it returns to ABC in January 2011. Charlie Sheen is now telling a few pals that he’s angry with himself about “really screwing things up” with the antics that led the actor to lose his starring role on “Two and a Half Men.”
Apparently, Sheen thinks there is a good chance the new “Men” — with Ashton Kutcher replacing him, but as a new character — could even surpass the huge ratings the TV sitcom snared when he was the star.
A source who should know tells me, “Charlie is a big fan of Ashton’s, but like all actors is extremely competitive. He’s developed a jealousy thing about Ashton, since he knows Ashton is cuter, possibly funnier and over all more hip and cool than he is. He’s developing a typical Charlie obsession about this.”
GOING GAGA: It sounds like superstar Lady Gaga has the right attitude when it comes to the recent dissing she was dished by long-troubled rocker Courtney Love, who called her a “sexless Barbie doll.”
A top Gaga groupie said Sunday that the pop diva is amused “that Courtney has to stoop to trashing me to get attention.”
Needless to say, Lady Gaga is merely laughing the whole thing off.
J-LO BLOW: Jennifer Lopez’s team is examining a new approach toward her ex-husband now that Ojani Noa got a judge to allow the release of old (and presumably embarrassing) J-Lo home movies.
While Noa is strictly curtailed by a non-disclosure agreement tied to his Lopez divorce pact, he circumvented that by selling the videos to his current girlfriend, Claudia Vazquez — who already is peddling them to potential distributors.
BACK TO CAMPUS: Among my Princeton University classmates reminiscing at a Memorial Day weekend reunion in New Jersey was Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, joined by his wife, Cheri. The low-key guv, graciously greeted college chums — many (including a bunch of Democrats) deeply disappointed by Daniels’ decision not to run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012. With his wife beaming broadly, the Hoosier governor simply said, “It was the right decision for me and for my family,” making it clear that his wife and daughters Trumped (excuse the bad pun) whatever personal desire he had to make a run for the White House.
† While Daniels pointed out he never traveled out of state with his usual security detail — thus saving Indiana a chunk of change — Cheri Daniels quipped, “Yes, but just think. If you had run — imagine how this place would be crawling with Secret Service men!”
SEEN ON THE SCENE: Sports fans dining out this weekend ran into well-known jocks — including Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau and forward Brian Scalabrine, ex-Bull Dickey Simpkins, the Hawks’ Duncan Keith and Fernando Pisani and Cubs third base coach Ivan DeJesus at Hub 51 and the Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh plus the Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan and the Bulls’ Luol Deng at the eatery’s lower-level nighclub Sub 51. … Charles Barkley slipped into Pippin’s Tavern on North Rush, where he charmed both staff and patrons alike — happily posing for photos with anyone who asked. … Joe’s Stone Crab lured ex-Pistons player-turned-team exec Joe Dumars, plus Cubbie Randy Wells and first base coach Bob Dernier, Portland Blazers center Greg Oden — plus broadcasters Mike Wilbon of ESPN and Fox Chicago’s Anna Davlantes. … Richard Branson hosted quite the hot bash at the Wit Hotel’s popular Roof, celebrating his long-awaited launch of Virgin America service out of O’Hare. The fete attracted “Entourage” star Adrian Grenier, Johnny Galecki of “The Big Bang Theory,” Jesse Williams (“Grey’s Anatomy”) Jonathan Sadowski (“$#*! My Dad Says”), Virginia Madsen (nursing a broken foot), Creed Bratton (“The Office”), Jenna Dewan and Naturi Naughton (“The Playboy Club”) and Tim Meadows — who also checked out “South Side of Heaven” at Second City. … While in town for her autism advocacy programs, South Side native Jenny McCarthy was spied at Public House and the Mid.

News anchor Giuliana and original “Apprentice” winner Bill star on their own self-titled Style Network reality show, and their new book features insights into their arguments over money, sex and jealousy and and their discussions about starting a family.
† None other than Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds will be the headliner at the N’Digo Foundation’s “Tribute to Men” gala, chaired by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. The June 19 event will be held at at Symphony Center.
