Prince William’s new sister-in-law Pippa Middleton is said to be overwhelmed by the intense international attention she’s received in the days following her sister Catherine’s big royal wedding.
Along with that sleazy $5 million offer from a U.S. porn producer, Middleton has been inundated with all kinds of more legitimate offers — ranging from speaking engagements to endorsement deals for clothing, fragrances and the hospitality and travel industry.
While a friend of Pippa’s says she was understandably “freaked out” by the alleged pitch for her to pose nude, she is also likely to decline any and all commercial offers — strongly influenced by advice from Buckingham Palace.
“She will never knowingly do anything to embarrass her sister or Prince William,” said someone-in-the-know.
† Along with daily chats with her big sis, Middleton reportedly is in the process of hiring public relations consultants to represent her going forward. Sophie, Countess of Wessex, the wife of Prince Edward — who formerly ran her own PR firm — has been advising Middleton with her search.
† The beautiful royal maid of honor may herself be planning a trip down the aisle. Middleton is said to be close to an engagement of her own — with her longtime beau Alexander Guy Rushworth Loudon. The ex-professional cricket player-turned-stockbroker became pals with Prince William while they both were students at Eton, the exclusive British secondary school near Windsor Castle.
DERBY DOINGS: Chicago spies at the Kentucky Derby report it was unsettling to see 4-year-old Dannielynn Birkhead being paraded around by her dad, Larry Birkhead — coaching her to pose and strut to remind people of her late mother, Anna Nicole Smith. Creeeepy!
CAN YOU BLAME HER? Perhaps not surprisingly, Tiger Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren — who has quietly and slowly begun dating again — has made it extremely clear to friends attempting fixups she does not want to date pro athletes or anyone involved in professional sports in any way.
“So far she’s only gone out with an investment banker, an international economist and a prominent physician,” said a close Elin ally. “Nothing serious so far. At this point, Elin is just looking to have a nice time with a decent guy. … She’s taking her time about getting serious. As you can imagine, she is very gun-shy.”
† Meanwhile, Nordegren is busy with the home she’s having built in North Palm Beach, Fla. The oceanfront estate replaces the one Nordegren bought for $12.5 million — and then had torn down! — just because she like the location. Given her nine-figure settlement with Woods, she certainly can afford that kind of extravagance.
BROADCAST NEWS! Fox’s “Good Day Chicago” co-anchor Anna Davlantes and boyfriend David Gamperl surprised family members on Mother’s Day with the news the happy couple quietly eloped during a vacation trip to Paris last week.
“We just didn’t want to go through all the planning of a big wedding,” Davlantes told me Monday. “And getting married in Paris at a beautiful 16th century church couldn’t have been more romantic.”
Appropriately, Davlantes met entrepreneur Gamperl at a Chicago Entrepreneurial Center event many years ago.
MORE ROMANCE: While things are heating up between Rihanna and Reggie Bush, the NFL star reportedly is worried about all the press attention the duo will attract — similar to his previous relationship with Kim Kardashian.
