Rumors have flown since before Halloween that Britney Spears and fiancé Jason Trawick were heading for splitsville, but the stories have taken on additional intensity the past few days.
On the one hand, a good source tells me the “X Factor” judge — who also reportedly is considering not returning for a second season — is indeed dealing with “some issues” with Trawick and the couple may break up. However, another friend of Spears, says, “I think they may have some things to work out, but I’m convinced they will keep it together. … I know they are going on a Christmas vacation and hopefully will come back with their relationship renewed.” While the couple have not commented, there are unconfirmed reports Trawick has even told Spears’ family they are over romantically but will continue to be involved professionally. Trawick, one of Hollywood’s top agents, has been central to Spears’ career decision-making. Along with the collapsed sales of
Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and others — the writer and director said, “I just think, you know, there’s violence in the world. … Tragedies happen, so you blame the playmakers.” Tarantino was referring to those who have touched on violent themes in productions “dating back to the time of Shakespeare.”
The filmmaker was reportedly upset the Weinstein Co. canceled its Hollywood red carpet and afterparty, though it did schedule a private screening for cast and crew. A veteran producer, who asked to remain anonymous so as not to incur the wrath of Tarantino or the Weinstein organization, said Tuesday, “He [Tarantino] totally does not get the concept that a lot of people believe there’s a direct connection between violent movies and lyrics — and them having a negative influence on someone who is mentally ill, which could lead them to act out in a violent way.” While some people have said Chaney is “lucky” — considering the 50 counts against him could have led the judge to send him away for more than his natural life (translation: 121 years) — I’m also hearing that 10 years in federal prison is too long for this crime.
SEE YOU IN COURT: Superstar Alicia Keys is being sued by Earl Shuman, who with the late Leon Carr wrote “Hey There Lonely Girl.” As first reported by showbiz411.com’s Roger Friedman, Shuman is charging copyright infringement, claiming Keys sings two lines of his lyrics in her new hit, “Girl on Fire.” It’s assumed Keys and her team will settle with Shuman long before this gets to court.

As a longtime ex-Lohan aide told me Tuesday, “Just remember: This is not the first time she’s done this. It’s a pattern with Lindsay. “In no time, she will hook up with another crowd of wild party people and she’ll be back in the clubs — and in more trouble.”
